After reform
島は古くから助け合いの精神が一杯。家を建てるとなると・・集落の方々が近くの山に行き、木を伐採・人力で運搬・人力で木を板に加工そして家の梁として組み上げる。
その互助精神を残そうと、私達夫婦は購入した築70年の古民家を島の仲間と一緒にセルフリフォームした。
2年かけて。
The island has always been full of helping each other. When it comes to building a new house, the village people go to the nearby mountains, cut down the trees, transport them manually, process the trees into boards and assemble them as beams of the new house.
In order to preserve that mutual aid spirit, we have self-renovated the 70-year-old folk house for over 2 years.
